Coming back onto my musical radar recently after a long gap, this epic, classical music influenced track of punk-influenced electronics is a standout for this UK group who released a run of albums on Mute Records.

With recent discovery made through the long running music blog Systems Of Romance, here’s a first take on this track by the French synth/post-punk group Réseau D’Ombres who were active in the mid to late 1980s.

During a recent visit to Vancouver that’s currently wrapping up, a nice haul of records was found, including a number of Canadian underground classics such as this early EP and its title track “Rotting Geraniums” by Moev.

The Vanishing‘s “Lovesick” from their second and final album Still Lifes Are Failing is a somewhat obscure yet prevailing dancefloor classic from San Francisco’s dark synth-punk scene of the early 2000s.

After connecting with the Finnish synth punk/EBM duo Aus Tears in my travels, I gave their latest release Structure and Collapse a listen.

A somewhat new release by prolific UK electronic music producer Chris Gilbert, aka Mild Peril, entitled Body Cosmic under his Paladin moniker.
