This mix, Synthetic Worlds, is a selection of more synthesiser-based pieces from classic artists from years gone as well as newer tracks by current artists, including friends and peers I know expanding in that universe of sound, creating new worlds to travel in and out of.

Possession Records has created a fifteen minute short film has been created with the purpose of promoting When Push Comes To Shove in a somewhat unique manner. It has premiered today on YouTube. The short film contains previews of tracks from the record as well as other things, including a feature on our Voidamol Limited Edition Travel Tin available in the online shop.
Tracks from When Push Come To Shove have been spreading over the airwaves over the last couple of weeks, both on the traditional airwaves and online. Here’s a summary of some of the online radio and mixes where some of these tracks have been played.

Alice Hubble’s “Kick The Habit” single has now been released on the UK label Happy Robots, including a reworking of the title track by yours truly. The Italian synth/post-punk mag White Light/White Heat premiered the single.
The first video from When Push Comes To Shove has premiered on Post-Punk.com, for the track “Taking Off The Edge” which is the first track off the album and also available as a FREE (or pay as you want) digital single. This video was produced with Glasgow visual wizard Georgina Penstkart, as part of a ongoing collaboration on video projects.
Finally it’s here! The new Soft Riot album entitled When Push Comes To Shove, which will be officially released on 11 November 2019 on Possession Records. The album contains eight new tracks and will be available in vinyl LP, compact disc and digital formats.

Some More Terror, the third album, was released five years ago today on Sept 23rd, 2014. Released between Fiction Prediction (2013) and You Never Know What Might Come Next (2015), the release took a very notable sonic detour as it was a collection of semi-improvisational experiments
The fourth Soft Riot album, You Never Know What Might Come Next , was released four years ago today on EXBTN Records out of Paris. In hindsight it was sort of a transitional record, moving from the cinematic, atmospheric stylings of the first two LPs No Longer Stranger and Fiction Prediction into a more rhythm-oriented mutant “synthpop” sound.

The next Soft Riot album, When Push Comes To Shove, is well into production and is scheduled for a November 2019 release in vinyl LP, CD and digital formats. The test pressings sound fantastic and have been approved so things are moving along.
